After 18 years of deep-sea command experience his recent seagoing experience includes significant maritime projects including:
- Towage of HMS Nottingham after a serious grounding
- International deliveries of tugs in Asian waters and between distant ports around Australia
- Estuarine navigation projects involving 300 tonne barges, long river transits and as Master if Sydney ferries Jetcat evacuated people from bush fire ravaged communities
- Key organiser in the inter agency safety exercises "What if's: a seminar focusing on hypothetical high-risk situations in Sydney Ports
Ted is also Sydney Branch Master of the Company of Master Mariners and is nominated for Deputy Federal Master. He is the Company representative on the CMMA/Walker Wilson projects. Ted is also the sole proprietor if Aspect Marine Services a consultancy specialising in shallow water navigation and maritime safety. He is presently a senior Master with Svitzer Australia.

Colin began business life with the ANZ Banking Group in Sydney before switching industries and joining British Petroleum in New Zealand. He subsequently held senior roles in NZ, Australia, the South Pacific. After leaving BP he freelanced as an MD/CEO undertaking business recovery contracts for a number of diverse organisations. He then joined KPMG in NZ as Director of Business Strategy. Subsequently he has also been:
• CEO of a stationery and bookstore chain of 85 stores
• Group MD of the largest retail design and build group in NZ
• MD of a light steel fabrication plant
• Partner & MD of an IT installation and support company
• CEO of a telecommunications software development organisation
• CEO of a start-up electricity power measurement company
• An independent consultant in retail and general business
He has served as a Director on several boards including the not-for-profit sector such as the Melbourne Red Cross Blood Bank, NZ St. Johns Ambulance and as a Regional President and Deputy Chair of the NZ Institute of Management.
